When Dana White announced that Charles do Bronx would face Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300, Brazilian fans complained a lot on social media about the star's decision not to face Islam makhachev. However, the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) said that after receiving information that the Russian was injured, he didn't want to wait any longer and asked the organization for an opponent, so he could stay active.

“There's no way I could stop for more than a year, I was going crazy. I need to be training, focused, fighting and making it happen. When it arrived that the Islam makhachev he was injured and could only fight later, I told Diego (Lima): 'I want to fight'. It's not about money, I need to fight and I don't want to go any longer without fighting. We made a big negotiation and we are in UFC 300”, said Do Bronx to journalist Laerte Viana.
Do Bronx's last engagement was at UFC 289, in June 2023, when the former champion knocked out the experienced Beneil Dariush. Still dreaming of a rematch with Islam makhachev, Charles will measure forces against the very tough Arman Tsarukyan in the card history UFC 300, which will take place on April 13th, in Las Vegas (USA).
