Colby Covington provokes Paddy Pimblett and projects the young prospect’s future: ‘It will never be top-30’

The former welterweight challenger mocked the English promise and said that he will never reach the elite of the lightweight division

Even though he is going through a delicate moment in his career, the controversial Colby covington continues to provoke other Ultimate fighters. In an interview with ‘MMA Junkie’, the former welterweight challenger (up to 77,1kg) provoked the English prospect Paddy Pimblett and guaranteed that he will never reach the elite of the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg).

"Paddy Pimblett…if he didn't have a bowl haircut and an accent, no one would care about Paddy. That's the only reason they like it, it's a bowl cut and a twang. He's not even a good fighter. He will never be a top-30 fighter. The closest he’s going to get to fighting for a world title is if he gets down on one knee and comes and smells my crotch,” Colby said.

Hired in 2021 by Ultimate, Paddy Pimblett he won all five of his commitments in the organization, however, being criticized for his below-average performance in his last two commitments, against Jared gordon, where he had a controversial presentation, and against Tony Ferguson. At 28 years old, the English prospect has an MMA record of 21 triumphs and three setbacks.

Fifth place in the welterweight rankings, Covington is coming off a defeat to Leon edwards No. UFC 296, where he fought for the category belt for the third time. The loud-mouthed North American has a record in the sport of 17 triumphs and four setbacks.
