Deiveson Figueiredo wasted no time after his successful debut in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg.) UFC. The former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) is already aiming for the new division's belt and has a target in mind: the current champion Sean O'Malley.
Deiveson, who beat Rob Font via unanimous decision No. ufc austin, in early December, declared in an interview with The MMA Hour that he considers himself the “antivirus” for O’Malley, who has a title defense scheduled against Marlon Vera, UFC 299, in March.

“I think he has something to worry about. I am the original. And if he is the virus, I am the antivirus for him. I'm ready to face whoever they want to put me against. The first name that comes to mind would be Sean O'Malley, then, besides him, whoever they put against me”, he said.
Sean O’Malley criticized Deiveson Figueiredo’s debut
O’Malley, in turn, did not seem impressed with Figueiredo’s performance against Rob font. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the North American mocked the Brazilian's debut in bantamweight.
“From zero to 10, how much would you rate the debut of Deiveson Figueiredo in bantamweight?” write the profile moderators.
Without hesitation, Sean argued. The athlete gave a 'below average' rating to evaluate the Brazilian.
“Note 3,” O’Malley posted.
