In a recent category like women's bantamweight in the UFC, it is common for fighters who have already competed for the belt to remain at the top of the rankings and eventually cross over. This is exactly what is about to happen to Sara McMann e Miesha Tate, according to McMann herself revealed on her official profile on Twitter.
“I am one step closer to fighting the Miesha Tate. I hope to be able to announce this fight soon”, published McMann on the microblogging network, also making a point of addressing the message to UFC officials, such as president Dana White and the matchmakers Sean Shelby.
At 34, Sara McMann has a professional record of eight wins and one loss. The Olympic silver medalist in wrestling is currently third in the official ranking of the women's bantamweight category and is coming off a victory over Lauren Murphy on August 16th. Already Miesha Tate, 28 years old, has a record of 15 wins and five losses. The former champion of the now-defunct Strikeforce ranks second in the division and beat Japan's Rin Nakai in her most recent appearance in the Octagon.
