Ian Garry breaks silence and opens up about canceling fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 296

Ultimate's last event of the year, the UFC 296 suffered a severe loss in the early hours of this Thursday (14), with the cancellation of the duel between the welterweights (up to 77,1 kg) Ian Gary, who contracted pneumonia, and Vincent Luque. Shortly after the news, the Irishman spoke about what happened.

Although he did not speak publicly, Garry spoke about the matter with Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, who shared the fighter's statement on social media.

“I have pneumonia. They tried everything to help me. In the end, the UFC doctor said there was no chance of me fighting. The UFC doctor made the decision. This bothers me more than anyone. I want to fight. It’s what I enjoy doing most”, lamented Garry.

Without Ian Gary e Vincent Luque: UFC 296 takes place this Saturday (16), at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, in the United States and features title fights in the welterweight and flyweight categories (up to 56,7 kg).
