The last few days have been for the young North American fighter Cody Gibson to forget. On September 27, at UFC 178, he suffered his second UFC defeat when he was submitted by Manny Gamburyan via guillotine choke. A few days later, Gibson was involved in a disturbance at a bar in the city of Las Vegas, in the US state of Nevada.
Gibson was accompanied by some friends when he started arguing with a man who, according to US press reports, was drunk. After some exchanges of provocations, including the fighter telling the man to look for Google whoever he was, Gibson was punched in the face, and he then knocked the man down amid vain attempts to break up the fight.
Moments of the confusion were published on video by the North American website “TMZ”. Gibson, 27, has been a UFC athlete since the beginning of the year, and in three fights in the organization, he suffered two defeats and won one. Overall, his professional MMA record is 12-5.
