Arman Tsarukyan returns to challenge Islam Makhachev and predicts how he will beat the lightweight champion

The Armenian prospect continues on his mission to get a title fight and has assured that he is capable of knocking out the current king of the under-70kg division

After running over Beneil Dariush and position himself as one of the possible challengers for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg), the Armenian Arman Tsarukyan tried to start provocations against the champion Islam makhachev. The division's prospect showed confidence in a possible duel for the title and assured that he is capable of knocking out his pupil Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“I always think about the best case scenario and I feel like I can knock out Makhachev in the first round. I hope the UFC changes something and puts me against Islam,” said Tsarukyan.

The first duel between Islam makhachev e Arman Tsarukyan it happened in April 2019. At the time, the Russian emerged victorious from the confrontation with a unanimous decision from the judges. The clash marked the debut of the Armenian, who accepted the fight a few days in advance, in the UFC.

Lightweight champion since October 2022, Makhachev has already defended the belt on two occasions, both against featherweight king Aleksander Volkanovski. The Russian has an MMA record of 25 wins and just one setback.

At 27 years old, the Armenian fighter has an MMA record of 21 triumphs and just three setbacks.
