For those who imagined that Miesha Tate could be flirting with a possible farewell to MMA, his dominant performance in the victory over Julia Avila, last Saturday (2), at ufc austin, showed that there is still fuel to burn for the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), who already has her next career step in mind.

During his participation in 'MMA Hour', a podcast on the North American website 'MMA Fighting', Tate expressed his interest in facing an old acquaintance: the former champion Holly holm, against whom she became bantamweight champion in 2016. According to Tate, the UFC 300 it would be the ideal stage for the rematch.

“I think this is a great time to face Holly holm again. I think April seems reasonable. I had a certain injury coming out of the fight against Julia Avila, so I need to undergo MRI to be sure. If it's not too serious, and I don't think it is, everything will be fine. So, if everything goes well, I think Holly would be a fantastic opponent,” said the former champion.

Miesha Tate dethroned Holly holm with a finish in the final stretch of the fifth and final round. While many treat the fight as one of the UFC's biggest comebacks, the former champion disagrees that she was so far behind in the fight and is eager to rewrite history.

“That's another thing that bothers me, because people still think, for some reason, that I was getting s*** kicked in that first fight. I think she was really getting the better of her standing, I give her that, but I absolutely crushed her on the ground. So yeah, I think it would be fun to do that fight again and write the story a little better,” she concluded.
