Less than 24 hours after the announcement of the Alan Nuguette from UFC Rio 5, after suffering a fractured jaw, the Ultimate organization has already announced the lightweight replacement. This is also Brazilian Carlos Diego Ferreira, who will now face the American of Iranian descent Beneil Dairush on October 25th.
Carlos Diego has a perfect professional record of eleven victories. The Amazon native based in the United States already has two victories as an Ultimate athlete, over Colton Smith and Ramsey Nijem. Beneil Dairush has a record of eight wins and just one defeat in his career. The “Kings MMA” athlete is coming off a victory over Tony Martin, on August 23rd.
UFC 179, or UFC Rio 5, takes place on October 25th, at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho. In the main fight of the night, the featherweight champion José Aldo puts his title on the line once again against the North American Chad Mendes. In the co-main event of the night, the former light heavyweight title challenger Glover Teixeira face Phil Davis.
