Patricky Pitbull loses Bellator lightweight GP final

Brazilian was dominated by Polish Marcin Held during the three rounds

It wasn't this time that Patricky Pitbull managed to win the Bellator lightweight GP. After reaching the final in 2011, the Brazilian repeated the feat this year, but was beaten by Poland's Marcin Held in the judges' unanimous decision. The fight was on the main card of Bellator 126, held this Friday night (26), in Phoenix, in the United States.

Specialist in the ground game, the Polish Marcin Held  didn't want to take any chances in striking with the Brazilian. Even though he has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, Patricky was unable to find himself on the ground in front of his rival.

After just over a minute of fighting, Held took the fight to the ground and began his dominance in the fight. The Pole advanced positions and came close to finishing on a few occasions. Marcin's superiority was repeated in the second half.

After losing the first two rounds, Patricky Pitbull he needed to maintain the fight in striking to try to win. However, Held managed a takedown after 45 seconds. From then on, the Pole dominated again until the end to take the fight with a unanimous decision from the judges.
