Fight between P.Borrachinha and R.Whittaker could happen in 2024.

After challenging Robert whittaker for confrontation and have positive response from 'dream rival', Paulo borrachinha sent a new message to the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) in the UFC. After a publication by the Australian in which the athlete indicated a 'green light' for negotiations, the Minas Gerais native went to his potential opponent's Instagram to highlight his verdict.
“Are you tagging me in the post? Do you really want this fight? If the answer is yes, we have an agreement”, wrote Borrachinha.

Former middleweight title challenger, Paulo is looking to resume his career after spending the 2023 season without competing. The Brazilian was selected for a confrontation against Khamzat Shimaev No. UFC 294, but ended up leaving the superfight after suffering an infection with staph bacteria.
Former leader of the under-83,9kg division, Whittaker is looking for redemption in the group. In his last commitment, the Australian ended up being badly knocked out by Dricus Du Plessis, and momentarily moved away from the dream of competing again for the group's throne.
Despite the apparent mutual interest, members of the UFC board did not comment on the possibility of promoting the confrontation.
