The anti-doping issue has gained a lot of attention in MMA news recently. However, according to middleweight Tim Kennedy, enforcement against banned substances has not yet reached the desired levels in the sport.

If no anti-doping test was carried out with Kennedy in the preparations for UFC 178, the same cannot be said for the athletes who will compete in the main fight of the night. Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso, who will fight for the UFC flyweight belt, underwent a surprise blood and urine test at the beginning of the month.
At the time, NSAC director Francisco Aguillar revealed that all athletes scheduled to fight at UFC 178 were subject to a surprise doping test when the commission deemed it necessary.
