Johnson says he's a fan of Conor McGregor's loudmouth style: 'Reminds me of Ali, Tyson'

The talkative style of Conor McGregor has already earned the Irishman several dislikes in the world of MMA. However, the controversial way in which he behaves also made the fighter gain illustrious fans. It is the case that Demetrious Johnson, UFC champion in the flyweight category.

According to Johnson, McGregor's style reminds him of other great names in fighting history. “I really appreciate the style of Conor McGregor, both his fighting style and the way he speaks. He reminds me of a young man Mike Tyson, a young Muhammad Ali”, he compared, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Johnson says he doesn't see McGregor's statements as empty provocations. “I don’t think he talks nonsense. He says what he really believes: 'Man, I'm faster, I move better than you. You're slow, I'm going to hit you hard'. I think everything he says is true. I think his fighting style is good, he understands fighting, and he's not putting it down. Dustin poirier. I appreciate someone who can say all that and, when it comes to the fight, show that it’s true,” she commented.

Johnson and McGregor will return to the UFC Octagon at the same event. Next Saturday (27), the Irishman will face Poirier in the featherweight category. Johnson now defends his belt against Chris Cariaso. The fights will be part of the UFC 178 schedule, in Las Vegas (USA).
