Excited about his good run of results in the UFC, Matt Mitrione is already planning his next fight within the organization. “Meathead”, as he is known, considers that his ideal opponent next would be the former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, who also comes from victories in the UFC.
The information was given by the program “UFC Tonight”, on the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”. Mitrione is coming off two knockout victories in the first round, having defeated Shawn Jordan and Derrick Lewis. In 11 professional MMA fights, all of them for the UFC, the fighter has a record of eight wins and three losses.
Also according to “UFC Tonight”, Mitrione said that he has great respect for Arlovski, and that the challenge was only made because he considers it to be his ideal next step within Ultimate.
Arlovski has won two fights since returning to the UFC, beating Brendan Schaub e Antonio Pezão. With the knockout victory over the Brazilian, the Belarusian shot up the UFC heavyweight rankings and now occupies seventh place.
