The Nevada Athletic Commission, responsible for regulating combat sports in the state where the city of Las Vegas is located, determined that the pair will have to attend a meeting on September 23 to provide clarification on the confusion at the MGM Grand Garden .
The information was released by the official newspaper “UFC Tonight”, on Wednesday night (17). According to journalist Ariel Helwani, the meeting was scheduled for 8:30 am, following a request from the organization itself for the athletes to arrive before the start of the Athletic Commission session. At the meeting, in addition to hearing the athletes' versions of what happened, the entity will also be able to define possible disciplinary punishments.
Still during “UFC Tonight”, Cormier, who is part of the program’s panel, took advantage of the topic to mock the information that Jon Jones would not have received notice from the Athletic Commission to attend the meeting. “I just know that I received the paper, I signed it and tried to return it by mail, but I couldn't. Either way, I’ll be there”, said DC.
