Seeking revenge for the defeat suffered 10 years ago, Max Holloway remains optimistic about a possible rematch against Conor McGregor. Waiting for 'Notório' to return to UFC activities, the Hawaiian spoke about the possible meeting and expressed optimism that he will meet the Irishman again before they both retire from mixed martial arts.
“I'm on the list of candidates for this Conor fight. He knows that. His fans know this. Me and him will probably fight. We are in fighting negotiations until the day we both finally retire. I think you'll see that in the future, especially with him coming back," Holloway said in an interview with ESPN.

As he continued his speech, Max highlighted his rival's power of choice and expressed happiness with the athlete's return.
"Conor McGregor He fights whoever he wants to fight and I'm always on the list of candidates to face him. It probably pisses him off that I was the only man he couldn't knock out in the featherweight division, so we'll see. I have nothing but respect for the guy. I'm glad he's coming back. It will be great for the sport if he comes back,” he concluded.
Opponents in 2013, Conor and Max faced each other at the beginning of their UFC careers. Chosen for the preliminary card of the event starring Mauricio Shogun x Chael Sonnen, the athletes left the fight with the judges' decision and the Irishman was chosen as the winner in a unanimous decision. Since then, both fighters have held the featherweight belts (up to 65,7kg) but have not met again.
