After three consecutive defeats, middleweight Francis Carmont is fired by the UFC

Following the Frenchman's negative streak are setbacks for Brazilians Ronaldo Jacaré and Thales Leites

After nine fights, middleweight Francis Carmont's career in the UFC came to an end. After suffering three consecutive defeats, the athlete from the Canadian gym Tristar Gym, the same as Georges St Pierre e Rory McDonald, was dismissed by the main organization on the planet. The information was released by Carmont himself, through an official note.

“I announced that after six wins and three losses I am no longer a UFC fighter. However, it is with determination that I continue with my career in combat sports. (…) My last defeat drives me to grow daily. Life is a path of learning and my career is far from over. Thank you very much for your constant support,” the fighter said in the statement.

A year ago, Carmont had won eleven in a row and was among the highest ranked athletes in the middleweight category. At the time, he suffered his first defeat in five years, to the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare. Then it was CB Dollaway's turn to beat the Frenchman. Finally, on August 23rd, Francis ended up being defeated by Thales leites at UFC Fight Night 49.
