The defeat suffered in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 51 had consequences for Antonio Pezão. The Brazilian, who was fourth in the heavyweight division, fell in the most recent update of the UFC's official rankings. Now, Pezão is ninth in the category whose weight limit is 120 kg.
Yes, Andrei Arlovski, who beat Pezão by knockout in Brasília, gained seven positions on the list. The Belarusian is in seventh place, ahead of Roy Nelson, Ben Rothwell and alistair overeem.
Another change was seen in the weight-for-weight rankings. Even though none of the 15 fighters listed have played recently, there has been a change in the order of top 10. Renan Barao, former UFC bantamweight champion, fell to tenth place, being overtaken by the current welterweight belt holder, John hendricks. The leader continues to be Jon Jones, in front of José Aldo, Cain Velazquez, Demetrious Johnson e Chris Weidman.
