The official weigh-in for UFC Fight Night 51, this Friday (12), in Brasília (DF), was definitely not what we call conventional. The event had no less than four athletes who needed the help of towels, as they were unable to make weight with their clothes on. The Belarusian Andrei Arlovski He tried, but getting the Brazilian fans to support a foreign fighter about to face a local athlete in the country is not an easy task. In addition to Arlovski, another foreign athlete also sent his message to the Brazilian public. Opponent of Iuri Marajó, North American Russell Duane entered the weigh-in wearing a t-shirt with the message: “Hawaii loves Brazil”. Without a doubt, the protagonists of the main fights decided to attract attention during their passage through the scales. Immediately following the entry of Andrei Arlovski with the Brazilian flag, Antonio Pezão appeared on stage bringing with him a rapadura, in honor of the state of Paraíba.

Not satisfied with just bringing the delicacy, the heavyweight also showed off the sweet to the public and showed off a shirt with the Paraíba flag. In addition to the references to the Northeast, Pezão also entered with a Federal District flag, as he was born in Brasília and has family members who still reside in the city.

The title of strange episode of the UFC weigh-in in Brasília went to Polish Piotr Hallmann, who will face Gleison Tibau in the co-main fight of the night, in a fight valid for the lightweight category.

During the face-off after passing through the scales, Hallmann simply turned his back to Tibau and proposed that they face each other sideways – in an unusual way in the sport. The Brazilian smiled, but continued to face the Pole, which made the scene even more unusual.
