All 22 fighters who will participate in UFC Fight Night 51, in Brasília (DF), topped the scales at the event's official weigh-in, held this Friday afternoon (12). However, the weigh-in was not as smooth as the numbers might indicate.
Four fighters needed to use the towel, namely Johnny Bedford, Igor Araújo, Dashon Johnson and Iuri Marajó. Furthermore, several athletes on the card needed to use the extra pound (450 grams) of weigh-in tolerance, given for fights that are not valid for the belt.
Protagonists of the main fight of the night, Antonio Pezão e Andrei Arlovski they looked tense after getting off the scale. The Belarusian tried to please the local fans by entering with the Brazilian flag, while Pezão entered with a t-shirt with the Paraíba flag. Excited, Pezão said that the fans will see a great victory from him on Saturday. “I trained for everything, standing up and on the ground, I want to put on a good show,” he said.
