UFC's decision to re-sign the Brazilian Thiago Silva, arrested in February and cleared of the charges after the case was recently closed, ended up making president Dana White the target of several criticisms, especially because the manager himself had already said at the time of his dismissal that the fighter would never return to the organization. With the decision made and Thiago reinstated to the Ultimate squad, Dana justified himself and came to the Brazilian's defense.

“You have to believe in the legal process. The police went there and arrested him. Plus, I know a lot more about the story and what happened. If you take his side and her side of the story, the truth is somewhere in between, but he went through the process and wasn't accused of anything. He must have the ability to earn a living. If any tape came up, but the police already investigated this whole thing and let him go. When I said (that he would never fight for the UFC again), there was a SWAT team outside his house claiming he had done those things. It didn't look good for him at that moment. He went through the process without being punished, so you have to bring him back”, said the manager to the official newspaper “UFC Tonight”.
