An unusual decision affected the fate of the Shooto Brasil middleweight belt. Carlos Índio, who had won the title on August 24th, by beating Gustavo Dutra in the judges' decision, had to return the belt after the Brazilian MMA Confederation reviewed the result and changed the fight to a no-contest.
The CBMMA accepted the challenge request from Renovação Fight Team, Dutra's team. After watching the fight again, five judges from the Brazilian entity scored the rounds in favor of Dutra, which culminated in the change in results.
In a statement sent to the press, the president of Shooto Brasil, Dedé Pederneiras, said he accepted the CBMMA's decision to change the result of the fight.
