With the featherweight belt dispute between José Aldo e Chad Mendes as the main event and the duel between Glover Teixeira e Phil Davis as a co-main fight, UFC Rio 5 had its third fight confirmed this Tuesday (02). The Ultimate organization announced that the Brazilian bantamweight Wilson reis will face North American Scott Jorgensen in the event on October 25th, at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.
The fight is in response to a request made by Wilson himself on social media. Last week, the Brazilian revealed his desire to face Jorgensen in his next appearance in the octagon and sent messages to matchmakers of the UFC on the microblogging network requesting the promotion of the confrontation.
At 29, Wilson reis has a professional record of 18 wins and five losses. The Januária native, who spent a good part of his career at Bellator, is coming off a victory over Joby Sanchez on August 23rd. Scott Jorgensen, 31 years old, has a record of 15 wins and nine losses. “Young Guns”, as he is known, won his last fight against Danny Martinez in June and ended a streak that had lasted almost a year and a half.
