This week, the UFC released the traditional vlog by the organization's president, Dana White, who shows behind the scenes of a recent event. This time, however, the content has more emotions than usual.
The video shows footage from UFC 175, held in July. The first of the highlights is Matt Mitrione's reaction to discovering that his opponent for the night, Stefan struve, had felt ill in the locker rooms, forcing the fight to be cancelled. Mitrione is indignant, but then asks to see the Dutchman. When meeting with Struve, Mitrione adopts a more friendly stance, saying words of comfort to his colleague, who was crying profusely.
Then the video shows Uriah Hall right after his fight against Thiago Marreta, which had won the judges' decision. Despite the victory, Hall injured a toe during the fight, and, as soon as he arrived in the locker room, he went to see the doctors to correct the injury. The fighter screams and even cries in pain while doctors put his finger back in place.
The next scene shows Dana White's reaction to seeing UFC's official commentator, Joe Rogan, asking Ronda Rousey whether she would accept to fight at UFC 176, which would take place in August and which had suffered the absence of José Aldo. "What he is doing? That’s the stupidest thing… Tell them [UFC producers] they’re idiots,” the president grumbled to Rogan.
Rousey, who shortly before had defeated Alexis Davis, also appears removing his gloves and bandages in the locker room. The highlight is the injury suffered by the champion, who had suffered a large cut on her right hand.
