Expectations in Mexico are high for the UFC's first visit to the country. The organization's president, Dana White, revealed to the “Yahoo Sports” website that all 21 tickets for UFC 180 were sold out in just eight hours.
The event, which will be held on November 15th in Mexico City, will be headlined by Cain Velazquez. Son of a Mexican father, the heavyweight champion will put his belt on the line against Fabricio Werdum. The prices of tickets sold varied between R$61 and R$1200.
To give you an idea of how quickly tickets were sold out in Mexico, UFC Fight Night 51, which will be held in Brasília (DF) in September, still has tickets available, even though it went on sale on August 7th. In the federal capital, only the chair sector was exhausted. UFC 179, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), in October, saw the tickets for the stands run out in just three hours.
In addition to the heavyweight title fight, UFC 180 will also feature Diego Sanchez x Norman Parke, Jake ellenberger x Kelvin Gastelum, Ricardo Lamas x Dennis Bermudez and Erik Perez vs. Marcus Brimage.
