Undefeated in her professional MMA career, Beth Pitbull will have an important challenge ahead of her: next Saturday (30), the Brazilian will face Shayna Baszler at UFC 177, which, according to the fighter, could give her the chance to compete for the UFC women's bantamweight division belt.

Pitbull has already won two victories in the UFC, the last being over Jessamyn Duke, training partner of the category champion, Ronda Rousey. The Brazilian believes that, if she defeats Baszler, another of “Rowdy’s” training partners, she will have already done enough to reach the title-shot.

“I'm not in the UFC to be just any fighter. I'll get to the title one way or another. I'll get there. I want to fight for the belt and I will do that by talking or fighting – or both. I want the title and no one will stop me. I think I deserve to fight for the belt. With another victory, I will reach 3-0 in the UFC”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

The fighter is confident that, if she faces Ronda, her destiny will be different from that seen in relation to the last challengers. According to Pitbull, the champion, who comes from two quick victories, has an advantage in the confidence factor. “I think they [challengers] lack confidence. Ronda believes in herself and the others who get there are afraid of her. I am not. I'm not afraid of her. It's not that she's better than the opponents she's already faced, but it's that they don't trust themselves. The appearance already shows this. They don't feel like they are better than Ronda. Ronda has this aura that she is invincible. She needs to fight someone who looks her in the eye and says 'you can't beat me'. Everything I do, I do with confidence. I'm not saying I'm better than anyone else. She may have more technique than me, but that doesn’t make me less confident”, he added.
