Repeating what it had already done earlier in Macau (China), the Ultimate organization chose not to choose the “Fight of the Night” at UFC Fight Night 49, held on Saturday night (23) in Tulsa (USA), and chose four fighters to receive the “Performance of the Night” bonus. Among the selected quartet, two Brazilians stood out: Thales leites e Rafael dos Anjos. The duo won their fights well and took home US$50 (around R$114) for their performance.

Thales knocked out Frenchman Francis Carmont just 20 seconds into the second round and extended his undefeated streak to seven victories, four of which were won as an Ultimate athlete. Already Rafael dos Anjos was responsible for the big moment of the night: even with favoritism on his rival's side, the lightweight division didn't give the former champion a chance Ben henderson and won by technical knockout in the first round.

In addition to the Brazilian duo, Canadian Jordan Mein and North American Ben Saunders were also awarded for their performances on the card. Mein knocked out the veteran Mike pyle in the co-main fight of the night and Saunders, who made his UFC debut after four years, scored the first omoplata submission in the history of the most famous octagon on the planet. Each of them also earned the equivalent of US$50 (approximately R$114) for the bonuses.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
