Brazilian show at UFC Fight Night 49! Light weight Rafael dos Anjos and the average weight Thales leites they gave a show in the octagon set up in Tulsa, in the state of Oklahoma (USA). In the main fight of the night, Rafael achieved a spectacular knockout against the former champion Ben henderson in the first round. Thales scored his fourth triumph in a series by knocking out Frenchman Francis Carmont and is already in the running to challenge the best fighters in the Ultimate division.

The fight against the Canadian started evenly. The Frenchman worked with strong leg kicks and always initiated attacks, even trying to take down Leites on one occasion, but without success.
In turn, Thales responded forcefully to his rival's attacks. Despite a balanced first half, the European fighter had a small advantage as he managed to unbalance the Brazilian athlete with two leg kicks.
In the second round, Thales returned to decide the fight. Despite his coaches' request to work the fight on the ground, the black belt managed to put together a beautiful combination to achieve the knockout. The Brazilian hit an overhand, which rocked the Frenchman. Without wasting time, Leites connected with another cross and took his rival to the ground 20 seconds into the final.
The result marked the 24th victory of Thales leites in MMA, the seventh in a row and the fourth in the UFC. He also has four career losses.
