Brian Ortega is caught doing anti-doping and suspended for nine months

The North American also received a fine of R$5,6 for failing an exam after UFC on FOX 12

At a time when doping cases have increased and the control of illegal substances has intensified by regulatory bodies and the UFC itself, yet another athlete from the world's main MMA organization is caught in a drug test. The California Athletic Commission reported that the North American Brian ortega was caught in the UFC on FOX 12 exams, held on July 26th, using the anabolic steroid drostanolone.

The entity also announced that, due to the episode, Brian ortega will be fined US$2,5 (approximately R$5,6) and will receive a nine-month suspension. Ortega is a member of a gym linked to a recent doping case in the UFC, that of TUF 19 finalist Kevin Casey.

At UFC on FOX 12, Brian ortega, who made his Ultimate debut, had extended his professional unbeaten run to nine wins in nine fights. However, with the positive result in the anti-doping test, the triumph was reverted to a “fight without result” in his record, which now stands at eight wins and one I didn't answer.
