A staunch critic of doping in MMA, the former UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre imposed a condition to return to compete inside the octagon. The Canadian wants Ultimate to adopt anti-doping regulations that are more precise than what is currently used.

St. Pierre relinquished the UFC belt at the end of last year and temporarily retired from fighting. He left open a possible return in the future, but has been harshly criticizing the current inspection with regard to banned substances in recent months.

“I will never fight MMA again without my opponent and I having passed the most advanced anti-doping tests, carried out by independent and credible organizations such as VADA or USADA, under the most rigorous standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA]”, said the Canadian , in an interview with the North American website “Bloody Elbow”.

However, St. Pierre avoided criticizing Vitor belfort, a name involved in recent controversies on the subject he will face Chris Weidman for the UFC middleweight belt in December. “I like Vitor as a person and training partner. Everyone knows what I think about doping substances, but I'm not going to comment on who deserves to fight for the belt or not. If he qualifies to fight for the title under certain conditions, then I'm happy for him”, he stated.
