Jon Jones underwent successful knee surgery last Thursday (14), in Los Angeles, United States, and has already left the hospital. According to information from the North American website “MMA Fighting”, obtained from the fighter's staff, the light heavyweight champion moves with the aid of crutches, in addition to immobilizing his injured leg.
Earlier this week, Jones tore the meniscus in his left knee and sprained his ankle in two parts during training with fellow UFC fighter alistair overeem. As a result, the North American had to undergo surgery, postponing his fight against Daniel Cormier for January.
On Monday (18), Jones should have a doctor's appointment to get a better idea of how long he will need to fully recover. Typically, an injury of this type requires six to eight weeks of recovery, although the time may be longer due to the ankle injury.
