If anyone benefited from the injury to Jon Jones and the postponement of its fight against Daniel Cormier for January 2015 he is Demetrious Johnson. With the changes in the calendar, the duel between the flyweight champion and challenger Chris Cariaso was promoted from the co-main fight of UFC 177, on August 30th, to the main fight of UFC 178, on September 27th. On your official profile on Twitter, Johnson used good humor to comment on his second main event in a pay-per-view in Ultimate.
“Bad: you’ll have to wait longer to see me win again. Well: I'm the new highlight of UFC 178. It was time for this card to receive a real main event”, wrote the “Mighty Mouse”, as he is known, on the microblogging network. The irreverence even caught the attention of Daniel Cormier. “You're the man, DJ. That was good, champ. Good luck!” replied DC.
On September 27th, at the MGM Grand Garden, in Las Vegas (USA), Demetrious Johnson puts his belt on the line for the fifth time in the main fight of UFC 178. The “Mighty Mouse”'s opponent will be Chris Cariaso. Already Daniel Cormier will have to wait a few more months to face Jon Jones, at the same location, on January 3, 2015. The light heavyweight title challenge will be the main fight of UFC 182.
