Mike Winkeljohn, striking coach Jon Jones, highlighted the champion's dedication during training for his next title defense, which will be on September 27th at UFC 178, against Daniel Cormier.

According to the coach, who works alongside Greg Jackson in preparing the North American, Jones is hitting the gym hard and already has in mind the strategy he will use in the fight. “We have already come up with a strategy. Jon called me as soon as he heard about the fight, and we automatically started watching tapes [of Cormier's previous fights]. We definitely have a good strategy for the fight. Jon is more focused than ever, working hard”, praised Winkeljohn, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.

The coach continues with the praise: “He is ahead of his training schedule, with extra motivation. That's why Jon is such a good fighter, as he will face an incredible wrestler and striker in Cormier. So, it will be a great fight, but I have no doubt that Jon will have the advantage”, said Winkeljohn.

When asked what, in his opinion, the outcome of the fight would be, Winkeljohn did not hesitate: “It will be a submission after several blows.”
