The World Series of Fighting already projects the date for the first defense of the Rousimar Toquinho in the organization. According to the North American website “MMA Junkie”, the Brazilian's fight against Jon Fitch is expected to take place on December 27th, with the location yet to be defined.
Toquinho won the WSOF welterweight title in March of this year, defeating then-champion Steve Carl with his feared heel hook. The fight against Fitch was scheduled for July, but the Brazilian had to leave the fight due to his mother's health problem.
Fitch then faced fellow former UFC fighter Dennis Hallman, winning the judges' decision. Previously, he had beaten Marcelo Alfaya and lost to Josh Burkman, these being all the fights he had in WSOF.
Furthermore, the December event should also feature another title fight. The intention of the WSOF is to marry, on the same night, the dispute between Justin gaethje and Melvin Guillar for the lightweight title, in possession of the former.
