Demian Maia suffered an injury and is out of the fight he would have against Mike pyle at UFC Fight Night 49, which will take place on August 23 in the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA).
According to information given by the fighter's manager, Eduardo Alonso, to the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the Brazilian injured his shoulder and later developed a staphylococcal infection. This is the first time in 19 UFC fights that Maia has abandoned a commitment to the organization due to injury. Thus, Pyle will face Jordan Mein, as the Canadian's former opponents, Thiago Pitbull e Brandon thatch, also left the card due to injury.
UFC Fight Night 49 will feature a duel between lightweights Benson Henderson and Rafael dos Anjos.
