UFC 178, an event that features a duel between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight belt as the main fight, he could be close to receiving quite a reinforcement on his card. This is because the Ultimate organization would be negotiating the fight between “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone and current Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for fight night, which takes place on September 27th.

The negotiation was revealed by the website “Sherdog”, which gathered the information from sources close to both fighters. The only pending issue for finalizing the agreement would be the UFC's agreement with Alvarez, who is still under contract with Bellator. In recent months, however, shortly after winning the lightweight belt, the North American has been at odds with the organization – already aiming to leave for Ultimate.

PUBLICITY:

At 31, Donald Cerrone has a record of 24 wins, six losses and one fight without result. After publicly revealing that he was broke and that he would like to fight five times in 2014 to stabilize his finances, the “Cowboy” has already won the three fights he had that year. Eddie Alvarez, 30 years old, has a professional record of 25 wins and three losses. Alvarez hasn't fought since November last year, when he won Michael chandler and regained the Bellator lightweight belt.
