Since the fight between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier was confirmed for UFC 178, in September, the two fighters wasted no time and they started exchanging barbs. However, the challenger is not bothered by the champion's stance, guaranteeing that Jones' words will not be enough to make him lose his head.

Cormier assured that he will be prepared for the opponent's psychological game, as this is nothing new in his career. “I know he knows he has a real fight on September 27th, so he is trying to use psychological tricks to affect me. But, my God, this is small and childish. He can't play mind games on me. I’ve dealt with this kind of thing in my life, so this doesn’t work,” said Cormier, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

Before receiving the chance to fight for the belt, Cormier even announced that he would would undergo surgery to correct an old knee injury. However, the plans were postponed, and the North American guarantees that this will not be a problem in combat. “My knee no longer hurts, and I feel the same way I always did. I'm doing everything. I'm practicing wrestling. At the gym, I did a backflip. If I did that, it means my knee is fine,” he detailed.

Finally, the undefeated Cormier exuded confidence that he will win the title. “There is always someone meaner to each of us. Jon Jones It's very good, but there is someone who can beat it. And I believe I am that guy”, he concluded.
