On December 6, 2014, at UFC 181, Vitor belfort makes the long-awaited fight against Chris Weidman for the middleweight belt. But the date is also special for the fighter for another reason: the 40th birthday of his sister Priscila Belfort, who has been missing since 2004. Vitor hopes to achieve victory against Weidman and the Ultimate belt on this important day to honor Priscila.

“I'm going to do this fight in honor of my sister's memory. It’s just joy”, said the “Fenômeno”, in an interview with the radio program “Mundo da Luta”, on Beat98 radio. Even after more than ten years, the case of Priscila's disappearance remains surrounded by much mystery. According to police investigations, the public servant had been kidnapped, taken to Morro da Providência and executed there. The version, however, was never confirmed, as were the other hypotheses that were raised.

In addition to the issue involving his sister's memory, Belfort also revealed that he has been receiving great family support for the fight at UFC 181, including technical support from his wife and children. “At home, there are me, Joana (wife), Davi, Vitória and Kyara (children) studying Weidman’s game. Every day Davi sees something. I am surrounded by head coaches (technicians) giving me the scout. Today I already received Davi’s notes,” he said.

On December 6th, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (USA), Vitor belfort in front Chris Weidman for the middleweight belt in the main fight of UFC 181, whose co-main event is the lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez. The Brazilian, who had been detected with high testosterone levels in a test carried out last February, was released for the duel on July 23rd during a hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission.
