The biggest promise of the American light heavyweights, Jon Jones, commented in an interview with US Today, about the moment lived by Lyoto Machida. For Jones, the Brazilian is possibly beatable.
“I think Machida is getting talked about a lot, I know he has great victories over great fighters and has more experience than me. But I don't think he's Christ, I think he's perfectly beatable. You guys are looking at him like he's Bruce Lee's karate. I honestly believe that a great Muay Thai champion will beat him any day,” said Jones.
“If Machida is (with the belt) by the time I get to this level, I’ll be ready for him. I will have my game planned and a strategy ready. I want to be the greatest Muay Thai fighter and beat the great champion”, commented the American who did not fail to show respect to the current champion.
“I respect him a lot, but I definitely think he's perfectly beatable. I know I have a lot of time to get to a fight against him, but when that happens I won't be intimidated by my nerves”, concluded the fighter.
