Vitor belfort celebrated the result of the Nevada Athletic Commission hearing this Wednesday (23), comparing the moment to winning the UFC middleweight belt. The Brazilian, who is free to fight in Las Vegas (USA), guaranteed that he will seek the title against Chris Weidman, in a combat that will take place on December 6th.
UNDERSTAND THE CASE:
- Belfort receives license in Las Vegas
- Weidman x Belfort will be the main fight of UFC 181
“It was a great moment, a great victory. The focus now is not the Chris Weidman, is the belt. He has the belt, so the focus is on getting what's mine. We won the belt today and we're just going to take what's ours. The only thing I can promise is that I will do my best and represent my country. Not only in the Octagon, but also in everyday life, because the victory on December 6th is won today. The belt will definitely be around my waist and I will take it to Brazil”, said Belfort, in an interview with the “SporTV” channel.
The fight between Weidman and Belfort will be the main attraction of UFC 181, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay gym in Las Vegas. Weidman comes from three consecutive victories against Brazilians – two over Anderson Silva and one about Lyoto Machida.
