UFC 181, which will take place on December 6th, will feature two title fights. After his hearing at the Nevada Athletic Commission this Wednesday (23) Vitor belfort was confirmed in the main fight of the event against Chris Weidman, in a fight that will win the UFC middleweight title. The event will be held at the Mandalay Bay gym, in the city of Las Vegas (USA).

Belfort, caught with high testosterone levels in a surprise exam in February, received the license to fight under some conditions, such as: not fighting before December 2014, the date stipulated by the fighter himself in his statement; not taking his next fight outside of Las Vegas; and accept to undergo surprise doping tests between now and the day of his next fight, which he himself will have to bear the costs of carrying out.

As a result, the UFC kept his word and announced, shortly after, that the Brazilian and Weidman will face each other in December. The fight was originally going to take place in May, but Belfort was removed from the schedule after the end of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), which he was a fan of. Weidman then faced Lyoto Machida, in July, defeating “Dragon” by the judges’ decision.

UFC 181 should also feature a fight for the lightweight belt, between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez. The fight has not yet been officially announced by Ultimate, although the champion revealed the date of the duel in a recent interview.
