In a recent interview, Conor McGregor promised to fight for the featherweight belt by the end of the year. The Irishman's mission is complicated, mainly due to the postponement of the rematch between José Aldo e Chad Mendes, but he has already taken the first step: he has finally entered the top 10 division up to 66 kg. After the victory over Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46, last Saturday (19) in Dublin (Ireland), McGregor jumped to tenth place in the most recent update of the organization's official rankings.
Another fighter who also gained positions after a victory in Dublin was Icelandic Gunnar Nelson. McGregor's teammate at the SBG Ireland gym, Nelson submitted Zak Cummings in the second round of the night's co-main fight and jumped to eleventh place in the welterweight rankings, with a weight limit of up to 77,1 kg.
Going against the SBG athletes is the British Brad pickett. Without fully adapting to the new category after dropping from bantamweight to flyweight, “One Punch”, as he is known, was defeated by Ian McCall on the main card of UFC Fight Night 46 and fell to tenth place in the division's list under 57 kg, giving up ninth place to North American Zach Makovsky.
