The long-awaited fight between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez, valid for the UFC lightweight belt, already has a date set: it will be on December 6th, in Las Vegas (USA), at UFC 181. The information was given by the champion himself in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour ”, from the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Pettis won the lightweight belt in August 2013 by submitting Benson Henderson, but had to stay out of fights for a long time due to a knee injury. His first defense will be against Melendez, with whom he will share the role of coach in the 20th season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

The fight will mark Melendez's second opportunity to win the title, as he faced Henderson in April last year. After five rounds of competition, Henderson was named the winner in a controversial decision by the judges.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
