This Wednesday night (16) is already marked in the history of women's MMA. On that date, in Atlantic City (USA), the women's strawweight category debuted in the UFC, with a Brazilian presence in the Octagon. It was up to the potiguar Claudia Gadelha the honor of winning the first fight in the 51,2 kg division of Ultimate, over Tina Lahdemaki, by unanimous decision of the judges. With the triumph, Claudia remained undefeated as a professional and expanded her record to 12 victories. The Brazilian was not part of the TUF 20 cast, which will define the first title holder in the new division, due to difficulties in maintaining her weight during the six weeks of recording the reality show. Despite this, Gadelha is considered one of the favorites to be the first challenger for the new strawweight champion.
