Ronda Rousey It's definitely in a good phase. The UFC women's bantamweight champion, who has been overwhelming all her opponents in her fights, this time achieved an important victory outside the Octagon. She was chosen as “Best Female Athlete” and received the 2014 ESPY Awards, an award considered the “Oscar of Sports” in the United States, promoted by the North American broadcaster “ESPN”.

To win the category, Ronda left behind Maya Moore (basketball), Mikaela Shiffrin (alpine skiing) and Breanna Stewart (college basketball), becoming the first UFC athlete to receive the award. At 27 years old, Ronda has ten victories in ten professional MMA fights on his resume, the last of which was a knockout over Alexis Davis after just 16 seconds. Furthermore, the athlete won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in women's judo up to 70 kg. She also competed in the “Best Fighter” category, as did another UFC champion, Jon Jones, but both were defeated by boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Another UFC champion, Chris Weidman competed in the “Biggest Surprise” category for his knockout over Anderson Silva in July last year, but the recipient of the award went to the Mercer Bears college basketball team for their victory over the Duke Blue Devils in March.
