Undefeated in two fights as an Ultimate athlete, the Brazilian Amanda nunes faces his biggest challenge in the octagon: the duel against Zingano cat, at UFC 178. However, the fight against the North American, who would have been a challenger for the belt if she hadn't been injured last year, could be the ticket for Amanda herself to guarantee her title shot. When commenting on the fight, the “Lioness”, as she is known, exuded confidence and even anticipated a possible challenge to the champion Ronda Rousey.
“I've been waiting for this fight for a long time. I always posted it on my Twitter, tagging Sean Shelby (matchmakers) and Dana White (UFC president), saying he wanted this fight. I need a fight to prove that I'm ready for a title shot. Thank God I received a call from my manager saying that, finally, the time has come”, Amanda told the website “MMA Junkie”. “I'm sure I'll win Ronda Rousey after hitting the Zingano cat. We fighters always wait for these moments. You can only show that you are ready to be a champion if you have a great opportunity like this in front of you. And I’m ready,” she added.
At 26, Amanda nunes has a professional record of nine wins and three losses. In her two fights in Ultimate, Amanda beat the German Sheila Gaff and the Dutch Germain de Randamie, both by technical knockout in the first round. On September 27th, in Las Vegas (USA), the “Lioness” will face the undefeated North American Zingano cat. The fight takes place on the main card of UFC 178. In the fight that closes the night, Jon Jones e Alexander Gustafson they rematch the “Fight of the Year 2013” for the light heavyweight belt.
