The UFC's first visit to Brasília will feature at least one women's fight. This Monday (14), Ultimate announced the fight between Jessica Andrade and Valérie Létourneau for the event, which will take place on September 13th, at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium.
Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” is the second highest ranked Brazilian in the UFC women's bantamweight category ranking, in ninth, just behind Amanda nunes. The 22-year-old fighter is coming off two consecutive victories, over Rosi Sexton and Rachel Pennington. Her only defeat in the organization came on her debut, in July 2013, when she suffered a technical knockout against Liz Carmouche.
Valérie Létourneau made her UFC debut in June, winning a split decision over Elizabeth Phillips. With six wins and three losses in professional MMA, the Canadian was only surpassed by well-known athletes: Sarah Kaufman, Alexis Davis (last challenger for the UFC belt) and Claudia Gadelha, who will arrive in the UFC in the strawweight division.
UFC Fight Night 51 will feature a fight between Antonio Pezão e Andrei Arlovski.
