after winning Frank mir in February and interrupt a streak of two consecutive defeats, the heavyweight alistair overeem He already has a new date to return to the octagon. The Ultimate organization announced that the Dutch giant will face Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 50 in September.
At 34 years old, Overeem has a professional record of 34 wins, 13 losses and one fight without result. A veteran of events such as PRIDE, Strikeforce and DREAM, “The Reem” has been in the UFC since 2011 and has a record of two wins and two losses in the organization. Ben Rothwell, 32 years old, has a record of 33 wins and nine losses. In his last fight, the American beat Brendon Vera, in August last year.
UFC Fight Night 50 takes place on September 5th, in Ledyard, in the US state of Connecticut. In addition to the duel between Overeem and Rothwell, four other fights were announced for the night's card: Ronaldo Jacare x Gegard Mousasi, Matt Mitrione x Derrick Lewis, Sean Soriano x André Fili e Joe lauzon x Michael chiesa.
