With yet another overwhelming victory for Ronda Rousey against Alexis Davis At UFC 175, the question hangs in the air: who can stop the women's bantamweight champion? One of the names most mentioned by fans and experts to offer a great challenge to the muse is that of the Brazilian Chris Cyborg, who currently fights in the Invicta FC event. Always viewed with reticence by president Dana White, Cyborg began to be seen as a real possibility for the organization, but without the discomfort of memories of a turbulent past with the fighter.

During the post-UFC 175 press conference, the manager even asked the journalists present who agreed that Cyborg was the main name to challenge Ronda. Upon receiving an almost unanimous positive response, Dana did not hesitate. “Good to know… I don't want to hear nonsense if I hire you. I know this shit will change once I do this. You guys are going to start talking about drug testing and all that shit. That's the big topic for you guys to write about. The script will change immediately,” she fired.

White also revealed details of the negotiations with the Brazilian at the time of the purchase of the now defunct Strikeforce. “But just so you know, when we bought Strikeforce, we offered exactly the same deal that we offered to Ronda a Chris Cyborg, and she didn't accept it. They did not accept the proposal. That's what happened when we tried to hire her. There are things to do if you really want to fight in the UFC, and if you want a title shot, there are ways to get it. It's not like we never made a pitch to Cyborg. We did and she didn’t accept it,” she concluded.

At 28 years old, Cristiane Justino has a record of 12 wins, one loss and one fight without result. “Chris Cyborg”, as she is known, was the former Strikeforce champion in the featherweight category and today holds the Invicta FC title in the same division. After several exchanges of public barbs with the UFC holder Ronda Rousey, Cyborg was heavily speculated about in the biggest MMA event on the planet, but the agreement never materialized due to problems with her former manager Tito Ortiz with the organization and consequences of a doping episode in which he was involved in 2011.
