I didn't even notice the smell. The fourth defense of the UFC women's bantamweight belt by Ronda Rousey lasted just a few seconds at UFC 175, in the early hours of this Sunday (6), in Las Vegas, in the United States. The category champion defeated the challenger by technical knockout Alexis Davis in just 16 seconds to retain the title and his undefeated record in MMA, which now has ten victories – none of which were by decision.

The fight started at a frenetic pace, with both fighters accepting the exchange. Rousey landed a powerful right cross on Davis' chin, which made the Canadian feel it. The champion threw a knee and one of her classic judo takedowns, landing in half guard. “Rowdy” continued to hit Davis, who remained clinging to her opponent. However, after a few blows, the Canadian “softened” her arms, causing referee Yves Lavigne to interrupt.

Hall overcomes broken toe and defeats Marreta

First Brazilian to perform on the main card of UFC 175, Thiago Marreta was no match for the dynamic striking game of Uriah Hall. The Brazilian started the fight confident, including throwing round punches (Hall's trademark), but was at a disadvantage in striking during the three rounds played.

Furthermore, Hall showed determination to continue the fight despite suffering a fractured toe on his right foot. The injury was already quite visible at the end of the first round, but that didn't stop the Jamaican from moving forward and connecting with the best blows. At times, Hall was so confident that he even let his guard down in front of Marreta, who was unable to respond.

At the end of the three rounds, Hall was named the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges (29 to 28, 29 to 28 and 30 to 27). This was the second consecutive victory for Hall, who was coming off a victory over Chris Leben in December last year. Marreta suffered his second defeat in the UFC – he lost to Cezar Mutant in his debut with the organization in August last year, before beating Ronny Markes in March.
